Following the far right victory in the European Elections, President Macron dissolved the assembly and called for a high risk and high stake national election.
Left-wing parties led by Melenchon’s La France Insoumise agreed to form a coalition, the Nouveau Front Populaire, to prevent the far right from coming into power, and to stand up as a better alternative to Macron’s neoliberal politics &
anti-democratic decisions.
